In the NewsPICKERING RED SOX PEE WEE TEAM WINS TITLE IN AURORA The Pickering Red Sox boys headed to Aurora on July 11th weekend for a tournament. With determination in their eyes and their hearts pumping, no one could stop them. Amazing pitching, solid defence, swinging bats and teamwork won the boys the title in Aurora. Game 1 was against Mississauga Majors, Pickering walked away with a commanding win of 25-2 Game 2 was against Markham; again the boys were pumped and won that game 11-3 Game 3 was a little tougher as we faced Wexford/Agincourt, who had also won there games until meeting the Red Sox. The teams went head to head until Pickering hit a few homeruns and took the game 9-6. Now, coming into the semi final game with no losses we were ready for the Whitby Red challenge. Pickering took the lead early in the game, Whitby started to creep up with a few good hits of there own. Pickering was not to be fooled the boys held composure and defeated Whitby Red 10-8. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME was against Newmarket…Both teams came out with there heads held high in recognition of making it to the final game. Our bats came to life early in the game and defence was in fine form, ready with every pitch. Unfortunately Newmarket could not catch up to the Pickering Red Sox that were flawless in this tournament. Pickering won the game 10-3 to take the title and bring it home to Pickering.Thanks BOYS and COACHES, WELL DONE!!
